Which sales are real?
For every “was → now” we look at the prices we saw at the same shop: did the price really fall, or did the “was” price never appear? Every morning, for every shop.

How not to get caught out
- Look at the price lineEvery product shows its price for each day. If it “went up” just before the offer, you’ll see it.
- Compare shopsA big discount in one shop can be the normal price in another.
- Save it and waitSet a target price and we’ll email or notify you as soon as it gets there.
- The price is at checkoutThe final price is the one in the shop’s basket, with delivery.
Questions
When is Black Friday 2026 in Cyprus?
On Friday 27 November 2026. Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November 2026. Many shops start their offers earlier in the week.
What does the law say about sales?
Under Directive (EU) 2019/2161, when a shop announces a price reduction, the “prior price” it shows must be the lowest it charged in the 30 days before the reduction.
How does Timoskopio check it?
We record every product’s price at every shop every night. For each “was → now” we say one of two things, and only when we saw it: the price fell below every price it had before, or the “was” price never appeared while we watched (at least 7 days). Moves under 3% do not count.
Why do some sales have no answer?
If the price has not changed since we started and we did see the “was” price, or if we have recorded the product for only a few days, we draw no conclusion.
