Our crawler: CyPricesBot

Timoskopio compares prices of shops in Cyprus. To do that, a program visits public product pages once a night and keeps the name, price, availability, photo and link. Every product on the site links back to the shop.

How to recognise it

Its User-Agent always starts with:

What it respects

• Every shop’s robots.txt, including Crawl-delay.
• One request at a time per shop, with a pause between pages.
• If a shop answers that it does not want bots (403 or a challenge), it stops and does not try to get around it.
• It does not log in, add to cart or submit forms.

How to stop it

Add to your robots.txt:

User-agent: CyPricesBot
Disallow: /

From the next night it will not visit your site, and your products leave the listings within 3 days.
